Over Mooncake

I'm a serial eater and food pimp, and on my platform Mooncake I share where you need to have eaten before you leave the planet. In the Netherlands, I show how great our culinary landscape has become and on Mooncake.nl I provide an independent platform for exceptional food entrepreneurs, with the aim of connecting people and making them feel at home through food.

My vision:

“Every bite counts, until no-one is the other anymore”

When travelling, I discover the places that aren't in your guidebook, but that you really ought to know. 

I write books and articles, make TV segments and videos, give lectures and food tours. And: I send out a newsletter every first Sunday of the month the most delicious newsletter in existence. Especially for members of The Tribe. You register your here in. 

You can wake me up at night for Indonesian bakmi ayam jamur, dolmas of all shapes and sizes, Moroccan b’stilla and thin, slightly sour Indian dosa. 

My latest book is, by the way a dining guide featuring 450 addresses and 120 food cultures and I think it might be right up your street.

Highlights

Through Mooncake I have collaborated with de Volkskrant, NPO, RTL4 and BNR Nieuwsradio, among others. I have served on various juries, including that of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, delivered a TED talk and written several books and essays.
